I paid a visit to Homestyle Hawaiian. It’s located on North side of Oceanside Blvd just east of Highway 5. While it is situated on the end of a strip mall across from a car wash, but once you are inside you get the vibe you are in Hawaii. Lots of Hawaiian pictures, surfboards, and tropical memorabilia. It seems to be very authentic representation of Hawaiian food not like some of the other places I have been too.

Carmine’s Pizza in Oceanside is located on Highway 101 just south of Mission Ave. Carmine’s setup is reminiscent of neighborhood pizzerias found in the northeast especially with Frank Sinatra playing on the radio. They have plenty of seating indoors and the small outdoor patio provides additional seating as well.

The Bagby Beer Company is both brewery and restaurant located right on the 101 in Oceanside. The building is a massive new construction that once was home to a car dealership. It is a multilevel, open space design with at least three bars, a tasting room and a restaurant. Bagby Beer Company was opened by a veteran brewer who appears to have spared no expense. I went one afternoon with a friend for lunch and we were both quite impressed with the menu and beer selection. They also serve cocktails.

Local Tap House & Kitchen is a gem in Oceanside. A favorite spot for locals that serves delicious food, local beers, and creative cocktails. They offer lunch, dinner and brunch on Sunday. Popular appetizers include Shrimp and Chorizo Egg Rolls, Calamari and Bacon Tacos, and WTF Short Rib Fries. They have salads that look delicious as they were constantly coming from the kitchen, that you can add fried or grilled Chicken, Shrimp, Salmon and Tuna.
