The Local Tap House & Kitchen is a gem in Oceanside. A favorite spot for locals that serves delicious food, local beers, and creative cocktails. It’s located on Highway 101 at the corner of Michigan Ave and has a small parking lot adjacent to the building.
Local Tap House & Kitchen has a hip but warm design with indoor/outdoor seating and seating at the bar.
They offer lunch, dinner and brunch on Sunday. Popular appetizers include Shrimp and Chorizo Egg Rolls, Calamari and Bacon Tacos, and WTF Short Rib Fries. They have salads that look delicious as they were constantly coming from the kitchen, that you can add fried or grilled Chicken, Shrimp, Salmon and Tuna. The most popular being the Pears, Poms & Persimmons that comes with Crusted fried Goat cheese and a burnt Orange vinaigrette.
I was going to get one of their sandwiches for lunch and the waitress recommended either the Short Rib French Dip, Avocado Chicken Torta and the Blue Collar C.A.B. Burger. I decided on the Short Rib French Dip which I could not pass on. It was amazing. Loaded with perfectly cooked Short Rib, Crispy Onions, Swiss Cheese, Horseradish Cream and Au Jus, it was outrageously delicious. It came with seasoned French Fries which I would get unseasoned next time. Not that they were bad but seasoned French fries are not my thing.
The service is very friendly, helpful and efficient which makes the Local Tap House & Kitchen a place I could go on a weekly basis. Try for yourself you will not be disappointed!
