Beat the Heat

Temperatures have reached record highs in Southern California and we at North Coast Village are here to remind you of some great activities to beat the heat. With all of the activities we mention below remember to stay hydrated, apply sunscreen every 80 minutes and try to avoid the rays from 10 am – 2 pm when the sun is at its strongest.

The first group of activities take place at what Southern California is known for best… it’s beaches.  Since North Coast Village is a luxury beachfront community in Oceanside, California you can bet that this article will mention all of the great activates within walking distance.  Get ready for surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, sailing, and good old fashion swimming. So leave those wet suits at home because with this heat comes warm ocean water along with refreshing ocean breezes.

For those of you more interested in staying out of the sun all together then Oceanside has some great indoor activities for you. And if surfing is your thing then checking out the California Surf Museum is a must.  There you will learn about the history of surfing and surf culture through its collection of surf  documents, artifacts and memorabilia.

Catch a movie at the local Regal Cinema. With 16 theaters you can guaranty one of them is playing a movie you’ve been wanting to see. Then be sure to check out the Oceanside Theater Company (OTC).  OTC produces four professional mainstage performances each season in their intimate 198-seat venue.  They also feature ongoing play reading in their blackbox theatre – Studio 219. These fully staged, professionally acted and produced shows set OTC apart from other local, community theatres.
